The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has decried the delay in implementing the Supreme Court rulings on the 49 sacked lecturers in the University of Ilorin.

The National President of the union, Ukachukwu Awuzie, told journalists after ASUU’s National Executive Council meeting in Sokoto State on Monday that the university has not responded after the judgment.

“Now that the court has ruled in favour of the sacked lecturers, the Unilorin authorities are foot-dragging,” he said.

Also, when the union president paid a courtesy call on the state governor, Aliyu Wamako, he said most of our universities are not more than glorified secondary schools. He said most of the state universities have been politicised while they remained inadequately funded.
