Nothing will stop reforms to eliminate vices in UNAD – VC
Kolawole said this during the matriculation organised for fresh post graduate students of the university last Wednesday.
He noted that the days of illegal admissions and award of marks were gone because the university had uprooted the roots of such evil.
Kolawole, however, advised those he described as cowards who had resorted to threat of telephone calls and sending of threat messages to stop as the game was over for them.
He said, ‘’We shall not be deterred in our resolve to develop the university. The bad elements should change for good and join team UNAD in order to continue the positive development of the university.”
He commended the courage of those students who recently renounced cultism and urged others to follow suit as the management was ready to give the amnesty.Meanwhile, a call has gone to all Ekiti indigenes world over to emulate late Dr. Lawrence Omolayo and Chief Afe Babalola in developing the university.Kolawole made the appeal during the commissioning of the Part-Time Programme building complex constructed by the Directorate of the PTP.
He noted that the two Ekiti indigenes, Omolayo and Babalola provided the university with the largest administrative building complex in Nigeria and a faculty of law auditorium respectively, stressing that Ekiti indigenes should emulate them.
The vice-chancellor commended the leadership of the PTP for erecting the edifice which was described as the best of its type in any university in the south west geo-political zone of the country.
While applauding the courage and initiative of Director, PTP, Prof. R O Seweje and his assistant, Dr Femi Omotoso, Kolawole called on the state government to increase financial allocation to the university.
In his remarks, Seweje commended the management of the university for encouraging the directorate to put up the edifice.
He also praised the students of the PTP for their cooperation. In his own comment, Omotoso said that the second phase of the complex would be completed soon.
